Pat's Cranberry-Fruit Sauce

 

 

2 bags frozen cranberries

1/2 cup finely chopped dried apricots

1/2 cup dried cherries, cut in half

1/2 cup dates, finely chopped

3/4 cup raisins

3/4 cup water

pinch of salt

zest and juice of 1 orange

1/4 cup apple sauce

2 cinnamon sticks

 

Put all but applesauce in pot and cook until the skins on cranberries pop.  Add applesauce and cook until raisins are soft.  Makes about 3-1/2 pints.  Can add toasted nuts if desired.
